YOG's speciality is producing very small format computer systems for sailing yachts. The smallest yacht we have ever provided a computer system to is 25 feet ( approx 7.5m ). Customers tend to be those who have tried the laptop route and found it to be unsatisfactory with all the wires and cables, the problems with water ingress of the oilskins, and those who are bored of the cramped typing conditions and the slow speed. Here are three systems which we sell to small yachts ( Moody, Beneteau, Dufour etc)
HIFI-PC MARINER M-CD PC KEY PC HIFI-PC is a computer system that look more like a HIFI. It is more expensive to produce ( about $450 more EUR 435 GBP 300) because the case is also a display. However it fits in to superyacht nicely because it looks smart. MARINER M-CD is a small footprint PC that we make that is roughly the same size as a CD case. It can come with an optional PC CARD slot, (M-70) whilst the model M-50 is identical but missing the PC card slot, and consequently slightly thinner. Model 30 is a Pentium III model and this is now superseded as Pentium III is almost out. KEY-PC is a computer all-in one - rugged and robust, you can see here from the picture that everything is in the KEYBOARD and the CD is shown coming out from the side. KEY-PC is popular as you can take it off the boat in around 4 seconds and can take a hard drive of 250 GB. Laptops are limited to an internal 80 GB hard drive. YOG have sold many of these to the tanker and commercial sector, aswell as superyachts whose Captains like the unit as they can take it on and off their commands quickly. We also put together great value bundles of equipment, including a F33 NERA dome for small sailing yachts up to 61 feet, comprising a small format computer system, flat panel screen, and a plasma screen (option)for entertaining in the main saloon. We were the pioneers of the first all entertaining (TV/DVD/CD/FM Radio ) marine computer, building our first one back in 1996 using Aims Labs cards and Windows 95/98. Sadly AIMS labs died a death after Windows 2000 was announced, because of the way Windows 2000 treated TV display, but the equipment since then has got better and better. We also offer DAB Digital Radio, Navtex modules, Weatherfax modules, and Engine monitoring software. Click here for a price list in Excel format.
