'ISDN'
in marinas
For resident yachts
our computers will work fine with ours or any one
elses ISDN equipment, giving you two 64k
lines. We find 64k is ample for surfing the
NET. Any delays are due to the Internet itself, or
even the website which is badly designed and relies
on lots of talking back to your browser to
find out what you've got. We are specialist at
supplying better software than the very heavy
Internet Explorer from Microsoft. Although we
like Microsoft, IE has got far too
bloated and is positively snail - like.
'ISDN'
at sea
64k and 128 k ISDN has been available for years on
InMarSAT B - you can combine the two
channels and the cost to get 128 k -
the service is also good for voice and fax G4
Our
equipment works fine with NERA dishes, which
we love and use often - and will also work
with Seatel. We are now selling the F55 and F33 satdomes for the smaller yacht market, which will
give ISDN and the Fleet F77 MPDS -the ( Packet
Data Service.) Note that MPDS is not true
ISDN - it varies from anything around 28,8 to 33.6
k but it is always on. Emergency traffic has
priority here, and so MPDS traffic
comes at the bottom of the pile. If you want
true ISDN then you need Saturn B true
ISDN. F33 will give just MPDS as it is alot
smaller. Data rates on true ISDN about $6.50 a
minute.
